Homer Lee Wilkes Designated Undersecretary

Posted by nationalforestlawblog at 08:44 PM on May 06, 2009

D.C. - President Obama has rounded out his Agriculture picks with Mississippi state conservationist Homer Lee Wilkes.  This nomination follows an earlier announcement that Jay Jensen would serve as Deputy Undersecretary for Natural Resources and Environment.  Mr. Wilkes, however, does not have a forestry background although he has dealt with farmland conservation issues.  You can read more about the Wilkes pick at the Seattle Post Intelligencer or about Jensen at the Clark Fork Herald.
