The Friends of the Swan have filed a lawsuit against the Forest Service to clearcut an area in the Flathead National Forest. The project, known as the "Soldier Addition Project" would log a mixed conifer forest before it it is lost to the pine beetle. As usual, the environmentalists claim that this is "some of the last old-growth forest in Montana". Such a joke. There is so much "old-growth" forest in Montana. But, of course, this one project will be the end to the forest. Anyhow, you can read more about it at Courthouse News Service or view the entire complaint here.
